Olympic Bronze Medal Winner, Sarah Winckless Has Huntington's Disease
September 1, 2004Britain's Sarah Winckless and Elise Laverick won the bronze medal in the women's double sculls on Saturday, August 21, 2004. Sarah, who was recently diagnosed with Huntington's Disease and her teammate, Elise finished in seven minutes 7.58 seconds coming in a respectable third place to New Zealand and Germany. They battled for the silver with Germany at the 1,000m mark. New Zealand came in first, earning the gold.
